Jagiroad, July 14, 2025:
In a major success for the anti-narcotics drive, Jagiroad Police today arrested a 25-year-old woman from Manipur with heroin worth an estimated ₹25 lakh.
PBSHABD reports that the woman, identified as Sufia, had concealed 104.5 grams of heroin in nine soap cases, which were wrapped around her body.
Police intercepted her near Jagiroad railway station after she was found behaving suspiciously. Upon searching, officers discovered the heroin hidden carefully in packaging commonly used to evade detection.
Authorities believe the seized heroin holds significant value in the international drug trade.
The arrest marks another breakthrough in Assam Police’s crackdown on cross-border drug trafficking, especially involving couriers from the Northeast.
